An MRI quote can change depending on the body area, whether contrast is used, the facility setting, and who reads the images. These questions help you confirm the scope before choosing a location.
Confirm the exact exam
Ask which body area and exam type were ordered, whether contrast is expected, and which CPT code the facility is using. If you have an order, keep it available when requesting a price.
Confirm the full cost
Ask whether the quote includes the facility, radiologist interpretation, contrast, supplies, and any pre-authorization work. The person scheduling the scan may need to coordinate with a separate billing department.
Confirm practical requirements
The facility can tell you about appointment length, arrival instructions, metal or implant screening, and whether an authorization is required. Follow the instructions from your clinician and imaging center.
