Editorial policy
Useful information starts with honest context.
Our editorial standards explain how we separate data from interpretation, disclose uncertainty, and keep healthcare pricing resources practical.

Our purpose
CostSavvy exists to make healthcare prices easier to investigate before a person schedules care. Our content should help someone ask a better question, compare a like-for-like service, or understand what a price does and does not include.
How we choose topics
We prioritize questions that appear when people compare care: what a service is, how a price is labeled, what to ask a provider, how insurance affects the amount, and how to respond when a bill is unclear. A topic should have a clear use for a patient or provider, not exist only to target a keyword.
How we write and review
We use plain language, identify the source of factual claims, and distinguish general education from an individual medical, insurance, or legal decision. Procedure and billing content is reviewed for clarity and practical completeness before publication.
We do not invent provider prices, coverage outcomes, reviews, or credentials. When a fact is unavailable or may change, we say so and direct the reader to the provider or plan for confirmation.
Commercial relationships
A link to a partner or outside resource does not change the way we label CostSavvy pricing data. External organizations are identified as external, and a referral link should never be presented as a guarantee of savings, coverage, or eligibility.
Corrections and updates
Healthcare data changes. We update pages when the underlying source changes or when a reader identifies a meaningful error. Corrections are recorded in the page content when a change affects the interpretation of a price or instruction.
